The Air Rooms

"If I were wind, then I would blow it down"

Description

To the left of the stairs, the Aria apartment celebrates lightness. The living room welcomes those who enter with blue bird cages hanging from the ceiling, rigorously open, a hymn to escape and freedom. In the center, a table seat is a swing tied directly to the beams, while an old ladder rests hanging on the wall. The air here is also understood as purification: in the bedroom, chandeliers are old sieves used to blow grain into the wind, clearing it of impurities. The salvaged bedside tables are pierced by holes, allowing air and gaze to pass through them in a continuous flow. On the wall, an ancient "proto-airbrush" (a tool that used air to paint) throws wires that connect to a mosaic of photographs taken by the architect. Here too the bedpost is dotted with the corresponding constellations (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius). Even the bathroom breathes outward: the mirror is set inside an open window, under which a small washbasin-desk invites you to look at the horizon.
